The Carpels, Blood Orange and why I hate myself. cool.
So long time. Not that you will have noticed it's pretty insignificant. so I've been spending the festive season and all that followed downing my sorrows in milk and other such dairy products, because i do love the fact that it's so yum and at the same time it's also making your teeth prettier. it's been accompanied by tears and masterchef, and I must say a hilarious realisation that gregg looks like an egg and not only does that rhyme but he works in a culinary environment in which he may often come in contact with eggs. so maybe not that funny but whatever..
so urm.. you know that whole I don't like morrissey thing i've got going on.. i have to say i've resigned myself from it.. he's an alright guy. I used to be all like 'ugh it's the guitarist that made the smiths good' and now i'm a bit like 'for fucks sake shut up you twat. it was the smiths that made the smiths good.' and that includes morrissey bro's. so i conclude, he's alright, a bit whiny like, but why do i always have to hate, he can't help the fact he's up his own arse, but that doesn't make his music bad. god, the traumas of being a child trying to shake of an old ideology of indieness. it's so hard. one day i'll be looking back at this point in my life just how i look back on about 3 months ago and go, god i was a twat, but for now this shall suffice.
so i'm doing that thing again, you know, where i listen to music. sayyyy wuuuuuutttt. so anyway there these two BRILLIANT new bands in my life who i'm totally digging. yeah i just said digging bitches. fuck you. My favourite of the two being this banging Birmingham indie rock piece The Carpels who do some brilliant shit. It's the type of music you listen to and find yourself having this impending need to start dancing on public transport. While potentially embarrassing, totally worth it for the propa ch-ch-ch-chuuunes. Listen to that down there, you will heart it, not only is it a beautiful piece of musical genius they also have quite nice faces so it's extra good. Plus the drums at the beginning is just explosive. pure fucking solid gold. and the electronic hints of a dubstep influence make it indescribable in anyway but boom. it's got slight elements of the arctics which is nice because dat's quality shit. basics this is a total band crush i've got right here.
The other band i'm loving right now is blood orange, it's got this sort of trippy 90's feel to it which is fabulous. it's quite obscure and i struggle to put my finger on why it's so bloody brilliant, i think i might just have a bit of a glasses crush. so instead of a drawn out plea to love them just listen and you'll get it. hopefully.
